A Farmington man has been arrested after Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies investigated two separate incidents at the Finger Lakes Hotel on Loomis Road.
Deputies say 41-year-old Brandon Giovannini was taken into custody following investigations into incidents that allegedly occurred on January 6th and again on February 9th at the hotel.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Giovannini is accused of assaulting a victim during the January incident, restraining the person against their will, and threatening to kill them if they tried to leave the room. During the more recent incident, he allegedly attempted multiple times to force entry into a room while making additional threats.
Because of a prior conviction for first-degree criminal contempt, authorities say the charges were elevated.
Giovannini is charged with first-degree unlawful imprisonment and two counts of aggravated family offense. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Ontario County Jail for Centralized Arraignment Part court.
Giovannini is scheduled to appear in Ontario County Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
