A Fairport woman is in custody following her arrest on an outstanding warrant tied to a shoplifting investigation in Ontario County.
Authorities say 36-year-old Deanna Salamone was taken into custody without incident on February 5th. She was transferred from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office and transported to the Ontario County Jail.
The warrant stems from an investigation into an alleged shoplifting incident at Dick’s Sporting Goods in Victor on October 10th, 2025. Deputies say Salamone is accused of stealing approximately $790 worth of merchandise and leaving the store without paying.
She remains held at the Ontario County Jail awaiting arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
