A Dundee woman is facing DWI charges after a single-vehicle crash on Welker Road early Saturday morning.
Yates County Sheriff’s deputies responded around 6:41 a.m. and found a damaged gray Jeep lodged in an embankment. The driver, 61-year-old Sonya Conover, was located nearby and allegedly showed signs of intoxication.
Deputies say Conover completed field sobriety tests and was taken to the Yates County Jail for a chemical breath test. She was charged with:
- Driving while intoxicated
- DWI with a BAC of 0.08% or higher
- Failure to keep right
- Moving from a lane unsafely
Conover was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Barrington Town Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
