An 18-year-old from Dundee has been arrested on felony charges of possession of a sexual performance by a child and disseminating indecent material to minors.
The Yates County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Marcus Chilson stems from an investigation into inappropriate online communications in which the suspect allegedly harassed and coerced a juvenile who lives in Benton to send sexually explicit photographs. During the investigation, law enforcement found images depicting sexual conduct of a minor on an electronic device belonging to Chilson. He is also accused send those images to others electronically.
Chilson was arrested on a warrant issued out of Starkey Town Court and was released on an appearance ticket.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
