On Tuesday, a Dundee man turned himself in to authorities at the Yates County Public Safety Building following an investigation into several alleged offenses from 2025.
Mathew Kennedy-Brewer, 20, was taken into custody on an active Yates County Superior Court warrant. He is accused of three counts of Criminal Sexual Act in the Second Degree, which is a class D felony. The arrest follows a joint investigation conducted by the Village of Penn Yan Police Department and the Yates County Sheriff’s Office involving incidents that allegedly took place in the villages of Penn Yan and Dundee.
Kennedy-Brewer was transported to the Yates County Jail, where he is being held until his scheduled appearance in Yates County Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
