Driver’s Speed Determined to Be Factor in Wayne County Accident

SHARE NOW

The driver involved in a crash early Thursday morning in Wayne County had to be airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of her injuries.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Julie Baker was driving north on Maple Avenue in the town of Palmyra shortly after 2 Thursday morning when her car began to drift off the east side of the road. Baker continued off the road and into a ditch before she struck an earth embankment, resulting in her car to roll multiple times.

An investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office concluded that Baker was driving at an unsafe speed and moved from her lane unsafely, which resulted in the accident.

Law enforcement was helped at the scene by the Palmyra Fire Department and Wayne County Ambulance.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
