An 18-year-old from Canandaigua was ticketed by police following the investigation into a two car accident in Farmington on Thursday.
Police say Connor Chapman was driving south on Sand Hill Road in a 2014 Honda when after stopping at the stop sign of the intersection with Shortsville Road, he pulled in front of an eastbound 2017 Jeep and struck it on the driver’s side. The collision sent the Jeep off the southside of the road before it overturned. The driver, Courtney Smith, of Farmington, complained of head pain and was taken to Thompson Hospital by Victor Farming Ambulance.
Chapman was not injured and was ticketed for failing to yield at a stop sign. Police say both drivers were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
