Firefighters had to remove two people from their car after it was struck by a Ford 150 pickup truck at the intersection of State Route 96 and Whiskey Hill Road Friday morning.
According to witnesses, the Subaru SUV stopped at the stop sign on Brewer Road and 96 and then went through the intersection without yielding to the eastbound pickup truck. After they were extracted, James Hughes and his passenger were taken to Geneva General Hospital for evaluation while the driver of the pickup was treated on the scene for minor injuries.
Hughes was ticketed for failure to yield.
The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on the scene by the Waterloo Fire Department, North Seneca Ambulance, and Finger Lakes Ambulance.
