A man was hospitalized following a crash in the Town of Phelps on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the intersection of Gifford and Ridley Roads for a report of a personal injury crash. When they arrived, they found a Toyota pickup truck that had struck a tree.
The driver, identified as Pedro Kline, was able to exit the vehicle on his own. Investigators say Kline was traveling east on Gifford Road when he lost control, crossed into the opposite lane, and hit the tree.
Kline was taken by Phelps Ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital with lower body injuries. He was cited for speed not reasonable and prudent.
The vehicle was removed from the scene by Howie’s Auto.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
