Two people were taken to Geneva General Hospital for minor injuries after being involved in a two-car accident Tuesday night in Phelps.
Yu Zhong, of Westwood, Massachusetts, drove a 2024 Kia North on Townline Road and attempted to turn left onto State Route 96. Rubin Marin, of Newark, was headed west on State Route 96 and had the right of way. According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, Zhong failed to yield at the intersection which resulted in the collision.
Marin and his passenger were transported to the hospital by North Seneca Ambulance.
Zhong was ticketed for failure to yield.
The Oaks Corners Fire Department responded to the scene.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
