A 19-year-old man suffered serious injuries after a tractor-trailer allegedly pulled out in front of his car resulting in a collision last Friday morning on State Route 5 in Seneca Falls.
Zachariah Brown was driving a tractor-trailer west when he attempted to make a U-Turn using the Bonadent Driveway. As Brown pulled back into traffic, police say he passed through a red light and into the path of a westbound car driven by Logan Haight. The impact of Haight’s vehicle caused the tractor trailer’s driver’s side fuel tank to be damaged and resulted in fuel spilling into the road.
Haight was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital by North Seneca Ambulance for undisclosed injuries that were described by police as being “serious.”
Brown was ticketed for unsafe turn and passing a steady red light.
The Seneca Falls Police Department was assisted on the scene by the Seneca Falls Fire Department, North Seneca Ambulance, and the State Department of Transportation. DEC was notified of the fuel spill caused by the tractor-trailer.
Both vehicles sustained significant damage and were towed from the scene,
