An Ontario County man was ticketed following a one-car rollover accident on State Route 21 Friday afternoon.
When deputies arrived on the scene at State Route 21 and Merrick Avenue, in Manchester, they found a Hyundai Tucson turned on its side with the driver inside. The driver, 30-year-old Christopher Nieversrivera told deputies his son was also in the car. Bystanders were able to help the uninjured juvenile out of the car. The juvenile was checked over by Finger Lakes Ambulance and released.
Deputies determined Nievesrivera was traveling north on State Route 21 when he moved from the lane unsafely and struck an RG&E utility pole. Deputies placed Nievesrivera through standard field sobriety tests, which showed negative signs of intoxication.
Nievesrivera was cited for moving from one lane unsafely, not wearing a seatbelt, and also for not having a proper child restraint in the car.
Manchester Fire assisted with shutting down the roadway.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
