A collision between two vehicles in Ontario County Thursday caused an Auburn woman’s car to catch fire.
Margaret Vanek was driving a 2019 Subaru west on County Road 4 in Hopewell when she was struck by the driver of a Jeep Wrangler who allegedly failed to stop at the stop sign. The impact of the collision caused Vanek’s car to catch on fire. It was quickly extinguished by responding Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Hopewell Fire Department.
The driver of the Jeep, Thomas Tartaro, of Liverpool, was ticketed for failure to stop at a stop sign.
Both drivers were taken to Thompson Hospital by Canandaigua Ambulance for minor injuries.
