A crash in Wayne County Monday night resulted in the arrest of a Wolcott man.
65-year-old Christopher Liebermann was reportedly driving his car east on Wilson Road in the town of Huron when he allegedly drove off the road and struck a street sign and utility pole. According to responding Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies, Lieberman exhibited signs of intoxication. Deputies conducted standardized field sobriety tests, which resulted in Lieberman’s arrest on charges of driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right, and leaving his lane unsafely. He was then brought to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office where he refused to submit to a chemical test.
Lieberman was sent to Wayne County Jail to await CAP arraignment. He will appear in Huron Town Court at a later date
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
