A Penn Yan man rolled his car over multiple times after leading police on a brief pursuit in Yates County.
As the Sheriff’s Department was responding to the report of a disorderly person in the town of Potter they observed Devan Peek leaving the scene at a high rate of speed. As deputies attempted a traffic stop, Peek kept going and eventually crashed and rolled his car several times after he failed to round a curve.
Police say the 31-year-old refused to perform a Standardized Field Sobriety test and was taken to the Yates County Jail to await arraignment on charges of DWI and failure to comply.
Penn Yan Ambulance, Middlesex Ambulance, and Potter Fire Department assisted the Yates County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
