The driver of the car involved in an accident in June in Wayne County that resulted in his passenger being ejected was arrested over the weekend on drunken driving charges.
The results of blood samples taken the night of June 18th came back on Sunday and led to the arrest of 20-year-old Joshuan Vazquez-Santiago. When deputies arrived at the accident scene in Arcadia, they found Vazquez-Santiago outside of an overturned car, and his passenger, who was not wearing a seatbelt, had been ejected. Police say at the time of the accident, the town of Rose man was using his mobile device.
Vazquez-Santiago was charged with Driving While Intoxicated Common Law, Operating a Motor Vehicle after Consuming Alcohol – under age 21, Failure to Keep Right, Moving from Lane Unsafely, Operating a motor vehicle while using a mobile telephone, and No Seatbelt for a Passenger over 16.
