One of the drivers involved in a two-car accident back in June in Wayne County has been formally charged.
It is alleged that Sarah Tuper, of Alton, was driving south on Covell Road in Rose when she failed to yield the right of way at the intersection with Wayne Center Rose Road and struck a westbound vehicle.
One of the people inside of the car that was struck was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital for serious injuries.
An investigation determined Tuper was driving while impaired by marijuana. She was charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign.
Tuper will answer the charge in Rose Town Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
