A property damage accident in Wayne County Monday night resulted in the arrest of a Marion woman.
It is alleged that Melissa Duckett was driving drunk when she drove the road and struck an apple tree in an apple orchard on North Centenary Road in Sodus. After an investigation into the cause of the crash, Duckett was subsequently arrested and transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. Duckett submitted to the breath chemical test, which resulted in Duckett’s blood alcohol content to be .19% BAC.
Duckett was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a BAC .18% or higher, driving while intoxicated common law, aggravated unlicensed operation, unlicensed operator, moving from lane unsafely, speed, and failure to stop for the stop sign.
Duckett was released on appearance tickets for Sodus Town Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
