Police say a man they clocked speeding on State Route 31 in Savannah was allegedly driving drunk.
During the traffic stop, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reported Jeffrey Chichester was under the influence of alcohol. After it was determined he had a blood alcohol content of .25 percent, which is more than three times the legal limit, the 49-year-old Leicester man was arrested.
Chichester was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated as well as other vehicle and traffic violations. Chichester was taken to the Wayne County Jail for processing and released with multiple traffic tickets.
Chichester will appear in Savannah Town Court at a later to answer his charges.
