One man was arrested following an investigation into a property damage motor vehicle accident on Italy Valley Road in the town of Italy.
An investigation by the Yates County Sheriff’s Office determined 23-year-old Wesley Quattrone, of Allegany, was driving south when he failed to navigate a curve and his pickup truck left the roadway, striking the south side of the ditch and multiple trees. Police also found an unsecured firearm and a fraudulent identification card at the scene.
Quattrone was charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident, speeding, an unsafe lane change, possession of a forged instrument, and failure to safely store firearms. He was issued an appearance ticket and ordered to appear in Italy Town Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
