A Canandaigua man was arrested following an investigation into a domestic disturbance at a Camelot Drive address.
Pursuant to the investigation by the Canandaigua Police Department, it was determined that 29-year-old Kevin Vogt had restrained a woman during a verbal dispute that had turned physical. He was charged with unlawful imprisonment.
The woman, 38-year-old Audrey Smith, also of Canandaigua, was arrested for strangulation when, during the same physical dispute, she placed Vogt in a chokehold and applied pressure until he started to lose consciousness.
Both were released on appearance tickets following their arraignments.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
