An investigation into an incident at Brentwood Apartments on County Road 10 in the town of Canandaigua resulted in the early morning arrest of a 42-year-old woman.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that Shannon Clay was intentionally violating a stay-away order of protection issued out of Canandaigua Town Court by being at the victim’s residence. Clay was charged with criminal contempt and aggravated family offense.
Prior to being taken to the Ontario County Jail, Clay was taken to Thompson Hospital for a medical evaluation and was cleared. Clay was being held at the jail for centralized arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
