A joint investigation by authorities in Schuyler County and the State DEC after a resident witnessed a person shooting a crow from inside of their car.
After the complainant heard the gunshot, they followed the vehicle they believed where it emanated from and contacted law enforcement. The police investigation confirmed an unidentified man shot at the crow while seated in his car.
The man was ticketed for having a loaded gun in a motor vehicle and shooting from a public highway. He was also charged with two violations, one for taking wildlife while in a motor vehicle and taking wildlife from a public highway.
All charges are pending in Cayuta Town Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
