A twice-convicted felon is facing more charges following an investigation by the Finger Lakes Drug Task Force in Auburn.

According to the task force, it has been investigating the alleged distribution of narcotics in Cayuga County facilitated by 29-year-old Reynaldo Ratcliffe-Sierra.

As part of the investigation, the task force was able to obtain search warrants for Ratcliffe-Sierra, a hotel room in the city, and the rental vehicle he was using. The searches conducted Wednesday turned up over four ounces of cocaine, an unspecified amount of US currency, a scale, and other drug paraphernalia, the task force stated.

Ratcliffe-Sierra was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the second degree (possession of a narcotic preparation over four ounces) and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree (possession of a narcotic drug with intent to sell).

Due to having two prior felony convictions and currently being on parole, the Cayuga County District Attorney’s office has requested Ratcliffe-Sierra be held at the Cayuga County Jail.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
