Clyde Woman Faces New Charges After Jail Altercation

SHARE NOW

A Clyde woman already in custody at the Wayne County Jail is facing new charges after allegedly assaulting multiple corrections officers during a disturbance earlier this week.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, 37-year-old Lauren Jock was involved in a physical altercation on July 9 while being held at the jail on an unrelated charge. Deputies say she struck several officers, causing injuries, and was also found in possession of prohibited items not allowed in the facility.

Jock has been charged with second-degree assault, second-degree promoting prison contraband, and second-degree obstructing governmental administration. She is scheduled to appear in Lyons Town Court at a later date.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
