A Wayne County man was arrested Thursday on a warrant issued out of Seneca Falls Town Court for an incident that happened at a house in Seneca Falls back on June 21st.
During a domestic dispute, it is alleged that 26-year-old Wayne Purnell, Junior, of Clyde, became physically aggressive towards his wife, subjecting her to unwanted physical contact. At one point, Purnell allegedly placed his hands around the throat of the victim and applied pressure, making it so she could not breathe. He was also accused of stealing the victim’s phone and breaking it. All of these alleged incidents occurred in the presence of a child. Purnell was charged with robbery, grand larceny, aggravated family offense, all felonies, along with misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of a child, criminal mischief, criminal obstruction of breathing, and harassment, a violation.
Purnell was being held at the Seneca County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
Purnell was also arrested on a bench warrant issued by the Seneca Falls Town Court for failure to appear in court on July 6th. Purnell was awaiting arraignment at the Seneca County Correctional Facility.
