A Clyde man is facing charges after attempting to strike law enforcement officers with a weapon during a Monday afternoon incident in the Town of Rose.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports responding to assist troopers with the report of a disturbance.
37-year old Evan Rattray is accused of then attempting to strike a trooper with a weapon before fleeing on foot. He was later found in a field east of State Route 414 where he again threw a weapon at deputies, nearly hitting one in the head.
Rattray was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Menacing, and other charges related to his initial interaction with state police.
He was taken to Wayne County Jail to await arraignment.
