A Clyde man was arrested Sunday afternoon following a larceny complaint in the Town of Savannah.
Deputies from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office arrested 37-year-old Patrick Sampson of Dublin Road in Clyde on charges of petit larceny. Authorities say the charges stem from a report of stolen firewood valued at $350.
Sampson was located on Severence Road in Savannah, where he reportedly admitted to taking the firewood. He was arrested without incident and transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for processing.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
