An 18-year-old from Clifton Springs has been arrested for an incident that happened in Wayne County back in August.

The charges against Leah Stubbins stem from an investigation into a 911 open line call on Quarry Road in the town of Sodus. It is alleged that Stubbings had driving a car while intoxicated while leaving the scene after assaulting another person with a blunt object. When deputies arrived on scene and attempted to pull Stubbings over, she fled, which resulted in an accident that injured her passenger.

Deputies detected an odor consumed alcoholic beverage and an odor Marijuana upon Stubbings. Stubbings was asked to perform standardized field sobriety tests and failed the tests given. Stubbings was subsequently arrested and transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office where she submitted to a chemical test of her blood.

Stubbins was charged with operating a motor vehicle while ability impaired – combined influence of drugs or alcohol, one count of reckless endangerment, one count of unlawfully fleeing a police officer, and assault

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
