A Clifton Springs man was charged with Felony DWI following an accident early Sunday morning in Palmyra.
It is alleged that Alberto Mejia drove his car of the road while in a state of intoxication. The 31-year-old was taken to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office where he submitted to a breath test which showed him to have a BAC of 0.14 percent. Mejia has two prior convictions of DWI in the last ten years therefore making his current arrest a felony.
Mejia was charged with felony driving while intoxicated, felony driving with 0.08% or more Alcohol in Blood and speed not reasonable and prudent.
Mejia was transported to the Wayne County Jail to await Central Arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
