An Onondaga County man was arrested last week for his alleged involvement in an attempted robbery at an Auburn store.
The Citizen reports that during the early morning hours of October 5th, 29-year-old Ashraf Almulaki and unidentified accomplices attempted to steal keys to a transit van parked on Owasco Street from workers who were renovating a former smoke shop into a deli. It’s alleged that the suspects pointed a handgun at the workers and assaulted them in an attempt to get the keys to the van.
When the suspects couldn’t find the key, they got into a pickup and left. Using video surveillance and phone records, Almulaiki, of Clay, was arrested last week on a felony attempted robbery charge
