SHARE NOW

A Cayuga County man has been charged with felony aggravated animal cruelty after State Police received a complaint about an incident that happened in Port Byron.

Jeremy McNair is accused of throwing a 13-week-old kitten resulting in it severing its spinal cord, internal injuries, and other severe injuries. The kitten was euthanized after it was taken to Cornell and determined it would likely never regain voluntary function.

The 22-year-old Port Byron man failed to provide any medical attention to the kitten and was arrested on additional counts of torturing or injuring animals and failure to provide sustenance.

At last word, McNair was awaiting arraignment.
