Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck reports that Michael Stanton Jr., of Auburn, was arrested on January 30.
Stanton faces charges of Criminal Contempt in the Second Degree, a misdemeanor, and Aggravated Family Offense, an E felony. Deputies say the charges stem from an investigation that began in December 2025, after Stanton allegedly contacted the protected party of a full stay-away Order of Protection while incarcerated at the Cayuga County Jail.
Following his arrest, Stanton was arraigned in CAP Court and is currently being held at the Cayuga County Jail.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
