A Victory woman is facing a felony charge after deputies say she drove drunk and crashed her car in Cato.
The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office says 35-year-old Erica Cardinale was arrested just before midnight on Route 34 after a deputy found her walking in the roadway near a vehicle that had gone off into a ditch.
Deputies say Cardinale was intoxicated and driving on a conditional license from a prior DWI arrest earlier this year. Her blood alcohol content was 0.23 percent, nearly three times the legal limit.
Cardinale is charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first degree, a felony, along with DWI and aggravated DWI, both misdemeanors.
She was issued tickets to appear in Cato Town Court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation; the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
