A Cattaraugus County woman is facing multiple charges following an early-morning arrest in the Town of Tyre.

Seneca County Sheriff Timothy Thompson said deputies arrested 24-year-old Shanie Henhawk, of Perrysburg, around 1:40 a.m. on Saturday in connection with a theft complaint and an impaired driving investigation.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of an attempted theft of an alcoholic beverage at a local business. Henhawk allegedly left the store and was later observed driving. Deputies conducted a traffic stop and, following an investigation, determined she was intoxicated.

Authorities said Henhawk recorded a blood alcohol content of .13 percent. Investigators also found that her driver’s license had previously been revoked due to an earlier Driving While Ability Impaired conviction.

Henhawk was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the first degree, a felony. Further details regarding her court appearance were not released.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
