The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office reports that 30-year-old Austin Bierce, of Lysander, was arrested on September 10 following a theft investigation at the Speedway Mart in Cato.
Deputies say Bierce took merchandise without paying on September 7. He was initially not located, and an arrest warrant was issued. Bierce later turned himself in after seeing patrol cars on Route 370.
He was processed at the Public Safety Building and sent to the Cayuga County Jail for CAP Court arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
