SHARE NOW

The investigation into a property damage motor vehicle accident Thursday night in Wayne County resulted in the arrest of a Messena man.

It is alleged that Cory Blanchard drove his car while in an intoxicated condition before the accident happened on State Route 88 in Sodus at around 8:45. When deputies arrived on the scene, they detected an odor of a consumed alcoholic beverage on Blanchard’s breath. He was asked to take part in standardized field sobriety testing and refused. The 45-year-old was subsequently arrested and taken to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office where he refused to submit to a chemical test of his breath.

Blanchard was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
