The driver of a car that was allegedly involved in a hit and run accident in Hopewell is also facing charges in Wayne County.
Sheriff’s Deputies found Cassanda Ross driving through the village of Newark after being notified by their counterparts in Ontario County of the hit-and-run. During the vehicle stop in Newark, Ross was found to be intoxicated. She was brought back to the Sheriff’s Office where she submitted to a breath test which showed her BAC to be 0.17%
Ross was charged with Driving While Intoxicated and released to appear in Newark Village Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
