Canandaigua Woman Charged After Disturbance at Barrington Townhomes

SHARE NOW

A Canandaigua woman is facing charges after police say she became aggressive with officers responding to a disturbance earlier this month.

According to the Canandaigua Police Department, 39-year-old Rosemarie Escalera-Martinez was arrested around 7:33 p.m. on October 8 following a report of a disturbance at Barrington Townhomes on Jefferson Avenue.

When officers arrived, police say Escalera-Martinez approached one of them and began grabbing at the officer’s vest and neck. After she was placed under arrest, she allegedly kicked the officer several times in the legs.

Escalera-Martinez was charged with Harassment in the Second Degree and issued an appearance ticket to appear in Canandaigua City Court at a later date.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
