Canandaigua Woman Accused of Welfare Fraud in Wayne County

A Canandaigua woman is facing welfare fraud charges in Wayne County.

The charges against Kate Ogdenski stem from an investigation by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and the Wayne County Department of Social Services. It is alleged the 29-year-old was a recipient of SNAP benefits but did not report the income she was receiving.  As a result, Ogdenski collected $5,274.00 worth of SNAP benefits she was not entitled.

Ogdenski was charged with grand larceny, welfare fraud, and offering a false instrument for filing and was held at the Wayne County Jail for CAP arraignment.
