The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a 41-year-old Canandaigua woman on Friday.
The arrest of Claire Keating stemmed from an investigation into a larceny complaint at Tops in the town of Canandaigua. Keating was allegedly observed selecting and concealing items valued at $165.67 without rendering payment and passing all points of sale.
In addition to being charged with petit larceny, Keating was issued a trespass notice informing her she is no longer permitted on the Tops property.
Keating was released on an appearance ticket for the town of Canandaigua and will answer to her charges at a later date and time.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
