A Canandaigua man is facing felony charges after being stopped by Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies.
Deputies say 28-year-old Mikel Collums was pulled over in the City of Canandaigua on Thursday. An investigation determined he was driving while intoxicated and without a valid license.
Collums has a prior DWI conviction from 2021, which elevates the current charge to a felony. He was also charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree.
Collums was issued multiple traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in Canandaigua City Court at a later date.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
