A Canandaigua man was arrested Sunday on multiple charges related to allegedly driving while intoxicated.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, a traffic stop conducted on State Route 21 in the town of Manchester resulted in Tyshawn Williams being charged with driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08% or more. Additionally, Williams faces charges for aggravated unlicensed operating, speeding, and operating a vehicle with no head lamps, no tail lamps, and an uninspected motor vehicle.
During the roadside investigation, deputies determined that Williams was intoxicated. Furthermore, Williams had a total of 16 suspensions/revocations at the time of operation. He was subsequently arrested and transported to the Ontario County Jail.
Due to WIlliams’ prior history, his DWI charge is classified as a Class D Felony, as he has two or more DWI convictions within the past ten years. He is currently being held at the Ontario County Jail, pending CAP arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
