A Canandaigua resident was arrested Wednesday by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office on burglary and petit larceny charges.
Sheriff’s Deputies and Eastview Mall Security responded to an in-progress larceny at Von Maur. An investigation determined Abdiel Velezsotomayor exited the store with unpaid merchandise. Velezsotomayor was previously banned from Eastview Mall for a prior incident. The 46-year-old was again issued a banning notice.
Velezsotomayor was transported to the Ontario County Jail where he was held for CAP court to answer the charges.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
