A Canandaigua man is facing charges after deputies say he sent threatening text messages that put another person in fear for their safety.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested 36-year-old Ernest Ford on Wednesday night. Investigators say the messages, sent via cellphone, caused the victim to fear for their physical safety and life.
Ford was charged with aggravated harassment in the second degree. He was taken to the Ontario County Jail, where he is being held pending further court proceedings.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
