A Canandaigua man has been arrested on four counts of criminal contempt following the investigation into the report of a violation of an order of protection.
Pursuant to the investigation, it was determined that Charles Laplant had entered the residence of another person who had an active stay away order of protection against him. It was further determined that three other people who were present in the residence each had stay away orders of protection against the 37-year-old as well.
Following his arrest, Laplant was transported to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
