A Canandaigua man is facing felony charges after being arrested for driving while intoxicated in Yates County.
Deputies say 64-year-old Timothy Pratt was stopped Tuesday evening after a complaint about a reckless vehicle on State Route 14A in the Town of Benton. When deputies located Pratt’s vehicle, they say he showed several signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests.
Pratt was charged with felony DWI under common law, along with three counts of failure to keep right, speeding in a 55 mph zone, and reckless driving. He refused to submit to a chemical test.
Pratt was taken to the Yates County Jail, where he is being held until his appearance in CAP court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
