A Canandaigua man is facing charges after being arrested for driving while intoxicated early Sunday morning.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, 32-year-old Brian Bement was stopped by deputies around 2:23 a.m. on Sunday at the intersection of State Route 5 and West Avenue Extension in the Town of Canandaigua.
Following an investigation, Bement was taken into custody and charged with DWI. Deputies also issued traffic tickets for operating a vehicle without license plate lamps and failing to display a front license plate.
Bement was transported to the Ontario County Jail to await arraignment in CAP court.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
