SHARE NOW

A traffic stop on North Main Street in Canandaigua Saturday resulted in the arrest of a Canandaigua man on drug charges.

According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office Juan Garcia-Rivera was allegedly found to be in possession of five grams of cocaine and 112 Tramadol Hydrochloride 50 mg pills that are a Schedule IV Controlled Substance. The 36-year-old was also found to have an active bench warrant out of Hopewell Town Court.

In addition to two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, Garcia-Rivera was issued tickets for operating while registration was suspended/revoked, operating without insurance, having no seat belt, windshield tint violation, side window non-transparent and having a single license plate. He will answer all of those charges in Canandaigua Town Court.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
