One of the drivers involved in a two-car crash Thursday in Ontario County was ticketed for failing to yield at a stop sign.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, Sylvia Jiminez, of Canandaigua, was driving a Dodge Van east on Emerson Road when she failed to yield at the stop sign and collided with a Dodge Ram pickup heading south on Sandhill Road. The impact sent Jiminez’s car into a utility pole.
A passenger in Jiminez’s car was taken to Thompson Hospital for neck pain. Jiminez was also ticketed for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.
Canandaigua Fire and Canandaigua Ambulance assisted at the scene.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
